This year I've decided to leave brussel sprouts off my Christmas day menu and opt for something a little different.. In my house, brussel sprouts aren't a particular favourite and they don't really look that great on the plate. Instead this year, I'm cooking purple sprout tops! They still have the same taste as brussel sprouts but definitely look a little more elegant to serve! They're dead easy to cook too: just cut into quarters, steam for 2/3 minutes then toss in butter. Delicious! Or if you do prefer your brussel sprouts and don’t want to break away from tradition too much; why not try something a little different by finely chop them, sautéing them with pancetta in a little butter, then adding a few chopped chestnuts?
